Diving at Sapphire Beach Resort in Belize

Come and experience some of Belize’s premier dive sites. Sapphire Beach has partnered with No Worries Tours—a fully PADI & SSI Certified dive operation—which offers access to world-class dive sites such as the famous Blue Hole, The Belize Barrier Reef, and the Turneffe Atoll.

About No Worries Dive Tours

No Worries Tours offers unmatched service for divers of all levels as well as an extensive range of training courses taught by some of the most experienced dive professionals in the region.

As stewards of Belize’s environment, our policy is to "look but don't touch". Even discarded shells should be left on the seabed and great care must be taken to not touch, kick, or stand on the corals to ensure that our reef’s diversity is preserved for future generations of marine life and divers’ enjoyment.

Our Guides

To Maximize diver safety and enjoyment, all dives offered by No Worries are guided by an experienced instructor and/or divemaster. Our instructors have Open Water Scuba Instructor and CPR training. Our Divemasters are PADI or SSI certified.

Our Equipment

All tanks are hyperbaric tested and serviced on a regular basis to ensure top quality and safety. We offer nitrox for divers with nitrox certification.

We have two boats — one is 28ft and the other is 30 ft. All boat captains are certified. Our boats are equipped with phones, emergency first aid kits and an oxygen unit  as well as water and  fruits.

The Diving in Belize

Leaving directly from the white sand shores of Sapphire Beach Resort, we invite you to explore the wonders of Belize’s world-class reef systems.

We here at no worries try to limit our excursions to 6 to 8 divers in a boat.

The Belize Barrier Reef

These dives are perfect for anyone with an Open Water Diver Certification.

Guests meet at our Sapphire Beach Resort dive shop at 8am, where you will fill out paper work and be briefed on the day’s itinerary, equipment, and safety before we board the dive boat for a 15-20 minute boat ride to the first dive spot along the Barrier Reef.

In the shallow areas look for the strange peacock flounders, clever octopus, needle fish and turtles. Or drop down a little deeper over dense coral growth to see pufferfish, green moray eel, parrot fish, lobsters and even the giant basketstar starfish. A unique collection of dive sites for all abilities and especially good for macro photography.

The Great Blue Hole & Lighthouse Reef Atoll

The Great Blue Hole full-day trip, departing the hotel 4:30 am and returning at 7:30 pm at the latest. Only advanced divers may descend into the Blue Hole.

There are three separate, unique, and amazing dives included in this tour.

First, we dive 120 feet into the Blue Hole, an other-worldly experience that contrasts the lively reef walls we visit later in the day. The Blue Hole does not offer much in the way of marine life, instead this site offers submerged remnants of cave features such as stalactites and stalagmites.

Next, we head over to to Turneffe where we dive at a depth of 80 ft along reef walls. Turneffe was designated a marine reserve in 2012, and is one of the must-see resort dive spots in Belize. Thanks to the dense mangrove forests dotting the shore, the nutrient rich waters serve as spawning grounds for reef fish. Keep an eye out for the endemic whitespotted toadfish, sea turtles, and larger reef fish.

Last, we go to the Half Moon Caye and a good chance to see nurse sharks and large schools of reef fish. From August through October mantas sometimes visit the reef to feed on the plankton blooms. In the Spring from April to May, larger visitors like the Whale shark migrate to southern Belize and pass by Lighthouse Atoll.

Breakfast, lunch, water, sodas and local, seasonal fruits are provided. Note that there is an additional fee of $40 USD required for entrance into the marine park. Due to regulations this must be paid in cash.

Turneffe Atoll Diving

Turneffe is one of the three main atolls of Belize, it being the largest of all. Turneffe is recognized for its extensive cover of mangroves and spectacular dives along the reef walls. Diving here is suitable for all levels of divers. This truly a world class dive destination, matched by no other dive site in the entire Caribbean.

Turneffe Elbow (south): Unique diving experience

Turneffe North: Calabash Caye & Virgin Corals
