Sapphire Beach Resort believes that being a part of the community means more than just building a world-class resort.  We believe in employing local workers, investing in the local economy, volunteering for local causes and helping the people of Ambergris Caye and all of Belize to the best of our ability.

Sapphire Beach’s commitment to creating local jobs doesn’t end with the construction of the resort.  As Sapphire Beach opens for our residents and guests, we will be employing front desk, restaurant, and other staff, all of whom will be local citizens.

Special Projects Sapphire Beach is donating $1,000 with each unit sold to a scholarship fund to help young Belizeans further their education.

Stadium Lights Sapphire Beach was glad to have a part in helping the San Pedro Sports Committee make improvements
to the basketball court at Boca del Rio Park.

Sapphire Beach sponsors “life flight” to save young man’s eye.   Recently, a young man in Belize was accidentally shot in the eye with a pellet gun. Sapphire Beach paid for this young man to fly to a facility where doctors attempted to save the eyesight. Unfortunately, Belize did not have the proper equipment to
save this man’s sight in this eye.  However, Sapphire Beach
is donating $1,000 with the sale of each unit, and along with the help of one of America’s top eye surgeons, Belize will soon have state-of-the-art equipment to help rescue the eyesight of other people in need.

Sapphire Beach is also involved in helping to bring private
team locker rooms to the town football (soccer) field.

65 Pairs of Shoes for School Children

Sapphire Beach has helped secure the donation of
65 pairs of new shoes for school children in Belize that
would otherwise not have them.

donations of the following supplies:• note books • paper •
glue sticks • crayons (24 packs) • pencils & sharpeners
colored pencils • color construction paper

Often the children walk to school in the rain and have no
other clothing to change into when they arrive, we are
also asking for donations of the following (all sizes, boys
& girls): black school shoes • white socks • rain coats

• undergarments • used clothing • backpacks

Employing the community
The best way that Sapphire Beach can be a benefit to the community is by employing local workers.  Every person involved in the construction
of Sapphire Beach, from our General Contractor, to every laborer and tradesman,
is Belizean.
